Here spake a champion

Prologue:

He stood there on the cliff. This electric night, with its bright full moon acted spotlight to a picturesque range of wizened mountains, and more so a spotlight to a Champion. Amidst loud cheering from the people of KHAND there spake their Champion

"I belive...(He starts In his inimitable deep piercing voice) ... (Loud cheering continues . . .) I belive in a world filled with peace, hope and fulfillment. A world out of the clutches of war, poverty and misery. Where one comes home to warmth of one s beloved and fall asleep lost in passion. You need not find sleep in such a state, it comes naturally, borne
out of the satisfaction of a hard day's work, borne out raw passion, out of the hope of tomorrow. That is all i seek. Not a life filled with all the treasures in this world, but a life filled with just three things . . . peace, work and love. Is that too much to ask, i ask you"

(Loud chorus: "No,No,No,no,no.....)

"too long had we let our lives be controlled by them! Too long had we sat back, failing to address that which matters most to us, yet that which feared to face. But not anymore. This is the day we overcame our deepest fears! Our deepest regrets. This is the day we fought. And this is the day we won!"

(Loud cheering "Wooh Wooh Wooh . . . .)

"Yet won is the battle and not the war! The harder battle lies ahead. It awaits us, with open arms and bated breath. But as you have seen today, the hardest battle is battle within. The day you conquer you, is the day we conquer them. And it is how this war is won.

Today is the quintessential day. There is no past, which is dead, just like there is no future, which is yet to be borne. What is relevant is today.
What is relevant is now.So, People of KHAND, let us begin this ride, today, to hard ground, a harder battle, to a sweet victory and a sweeter life ahead!
Prepare for battle ... (raising his right hand) To waaar.....

(Echos of "A Wooh, A Wooh, A wooh")

Ironical he thought, that war was the path to peace. Yet this was the only path which was left.

As he walked about the cliff, surveying the frenzied camp, which danced wildly to the wild beat of deep rythmic drums, he was inclined to point in recognition to a man, drenched in sweat, swinging wildly a placard ...

"Fate is not without its cruel sense of irony"

P.s. The last line is a tribute to you (s) two (s) (the Wachowski brothers), or is most of the post?
